Recognized on the CPA-Zicklin Index of Corporate Political Disclosure and Accountability as a “trendsetter” for corporate disclosures related to political spending (September 2018).
Corporate Responsibility Magazine
Ranked #26 on the 20th annual “100 Best Corporate Citizens” list, which recognizes environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of public companies across the United States (May 2019).
Named a Top Socially Responsible Dividend Stock in both 2018 and 2019 signifying a stock with above-average “Dividend Rank” statistics, as well as being recognized by prominent asset managers as being a socially responsible investment (January 2018 & 2019).
We are a constituent of ECPI’s indices, which have been dedicated to environmental, social and governance research since 1997.
Named as one of Forbes Global 2000 on the 16th and 17th annual Forbes Global 2000 list, which includes publicly traded companies from 60 countries (June 2018 & 2019).
Named to the “World’s Most Admired Companies” list in both 2018 and 2019 (January 2018 & 2019).

Since 2008 our company remains a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index. The FTSE4Good Index series measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognized corporate responsibility standards (August 2018 & 2019).

This award puts the spotlight on 100 top leaders who exemplify exceptional vision, trust and communication to employees in North America and parts of Europe (June 2019).
Hispanic Network Magazine
One of the Top Healthcare, Pharmaceutical and Biotech Companies to win the 2019 Summer and the 2019 Fall “Best of the Best” award from Hispanic Network magazine out of hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies (Spring & Summer 2019).
Maintained “Prime Status” by oekom research on their ISS-oekom Corporate Rating Report; meaning that the company fulfills ISS-oekom’s requirements regarding sustainability performance within our sector (October 2018).
Forbes—in partnership with JUST Capital—analyzed nearly 1,000 U.S. publicly traded companies to determine which have the best and most just business behavior and named our company to the 2018 JUST 100 List. The rankings provide a comprehensive measurement of how U.S. companies perform on the issues Americans care about most (December 2018).
Remained a top 10 constituent on the Global Sustainability Index for MSCI, Inc., a leading provider of global benchmark indexes that has over 500 equity and fixed-income ESG indexes (September 2018).
Our company’s Chairman and CEO, Ken Frazier, was inducted into the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Business Hall of Fame for his distinguished record of civic engagement and professional achievement (November 2018).
TIME magazine named Ken Frazier, our company’s Chairman and CEO, to the 2018 TIME 100, its annual list of the most influential people in the world (April 2018).
TIME magazine named our company to its inaugural list of the Most Genius Companies of 2018 for “making deadly diseases a priority” with our investigational Ebola vaccine. The list features 50 companies that are “inventing the future” and driving progress in their respective fields (October 2018).
Wall Street Journal Management Top 250
Ranked #42 on the Wall Street Journal’s Management Top 250 List; a ranking of U.S. companies by the Drucker Institute (November 2018).

Received a “Citation for Chemical Breakthrough” from the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of the History of Chemistry (November 2018).
Received the “Animal Pharma Award” for Best New Food Animal Product for our IDAL® family of devices for needle-free and intradermal application of swine vaccines (January 2019).
Conferred “Best 2017 Immuno-oncology Breakthrough” for KEYTRUDA® and “Best 2017 Vaccine Breakthrough” for our Ebola vaccine at the 8th annual BioPharma Industry Awards which recognizes organizations and individual contributions to innovation and standards of excellence in Asia’s biopharma industry (December 2018).
Received an Innovator Award in recognition of the 2018 FDA approval of PIFELTRO™ (doravirine), a new treatment for HIV. Innovator Awards are given to New Jersey companies that have received a novel FDA drug approval (February 2019).
Construction User Roundtable (CURT)
Our Global Engineering Services (GES) won a Top Safety Award for its company-wide safety efforts, including the Safe by Choice program (March 2019).
EMEA SABRE Awards
Awarded the Platinum SABRE Award for communication in the medical field in Romania and the Protect Her Wings Campaign that contributed to Romania’s Ministry of Health decision to re-launch HPV vaccination within the National Immunization Program (May 2019).
European Patient Group for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS)
Our company, along with Bayer, UCB and EFPIA, were jointly honored by the European Patient Group for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS) with an award for our commitment to championing patient engagement in Europe (February 2018).
Ranked second on Fortune magazine’s “Change the World” list for our leadership role in the fight against Ebola, including our investigational Ebola vaccine and our support for humanitarian organizations involved in Ebola relief and recovery efforts (September 2018).
Frost & Sullivan Manufacturing Leadership Council
Recognized with the Manufacturing Leadership Award in 2018 and 2019 (March 2018 & 2019).
GreenBook Research Industries Trend (GRIT) Report
Named the 19th most innovative company in the GRIT report, which recognizes innovation in insights across industries (July 2019).
Hungarian Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology
Honored with the “Drug of the Year” for the fourth time for KEYTRUDA (pembrolizumab) (December 2018).
National Association of Manufacturers
Received five Manufacturing Leadership Awards at the Manufacturing Leadership Council’s 2019 annual awards ceremony, including top billing as Manufacturer of the Year in the large company category (June 2019).
National Inventors Hall of Fame
Four of our company’s scientists were posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame for their work in developing thiazide diuretics, the first class of drugs to safely and effectively treat hypertension (May 2019).
Recognized by People magazine as one of the top “50 Companies that Care” for our efforts through MSD for Mothers to reduce preventable maternal mortality across the globe with education, tools and technologies for health care providers and moms. We were the top-ranked pharmaceutical company on the list, coming in at 12th place (July 2019).
Honored with Project HOPE’s first Lifetime of Global Health Award for outstanding contributions in global health and humanitarian relief (November 2018).
The National Minority Supplier Development Council
Awarded Class II ($11 billion to $50 billion revenue) Corporation of the Year for our exceptional accomplishments in promoting minority supplier development (October 2018).
MSD Animal Health was awarded the category of “Best Veterinary Pharmaceutical Company” for the 2018 Vet Trust Awards, which is given to companies, charities and individuals that have made a positive impact on the veterinary world (November 2018).
American Heart Association
Recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) at the gold level on the 2018 Workplace Health Achievement Index (August 2018).
American Indian Science and Engineering Society
Named to the 2018 and 2019 list of “Top 50 Places to Work for Native American STEM Professionals” by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (April 2018 & 2019).
Black Enterprise, in collaboration with The Executive Leadership Council, the leading organization of black senior managers, included our company on its annual listing of the 50 Best Companies for Diversity (December 2018).

This award was established in 2009 to honor outstanding Americans who exemplify the vision and transformative ideals of Ronald H. Brown (1941–1996). The Awards are granted to individuals who have developed opportunities and fostered the achievements of others (March 2018).
